What is OM?
OM is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students. Kids apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. The program stresses team-building and creativity in all forms.

Asheville Homeschool Co-op OM
The Asheville Homeschool Co-op Odyssey of the Mind program is a non-profit organization in its ninth year of bringing OM to the Asheville homeschool community. We feel strongly that creative kids who can work together to problem-solve will become creative, problem-solving adults who can work together to create a better future. Participation in our program has grown each year. In 2013, one of our teams placed twelfth in the world. In 2014 we had three teams advance to the state competition at Wingate University. At Wingate, our high school team earned a spot at World Finals at Iowa State University in May, where they ranked 6th in the long-term problem and 17th overall. Last year, we had three out of four teams qualify to compete at the state level, and our high school team placed third in the state.
